Beginning of the Suffrage Movement
Before, the Suffrage Movement had happened they had to organize a plan and a idea for it. Susan and Elizabeth were the main people in this organization, they were like the great minds behind the Suffrage Movement. Whenever they had finally came out with this idea and said that they were doing, a bunch of other women had actually listened and agreed with Stanton and Anthony.
The campaign began in the decades way before the Civil War. During the 1820's and 1830's most states had extended the rights to all white men. "Mean while, many American women were beginning to chafe against what historians have called the "Cult of True Womenhood." THat is the idea that the only "True" woman was apious, submissive wife and mother concerned exclusively with home and family.
